Here, we find a maid-of-honor giving a speech that is just simply bizarre. She knows the couple very well—the groom all of her life, and the bride all of the couple's relationship. 'We sat there stunned': Maid of Honor gives 'bizarre' speech claiming she 'hardly knows the bride,' guest speculate she's in love with the groom and friendship ends
If you have ever had to give a wedding speech, then you know how it goes: All of your friend's closest loved ones are watching you, you're holding up a glass of champagne, and proceed to relay some cute memory of the couple that you shared with them, talk about how much you love them, how their love will only grow, wish them luck, and then cheers! Boom. You're done. No need to embarrass anybody in the process.
And yet… There are always stories about someone in the wedding party, like a bestie or close family member, giving some speech that absolutely annihilates the couple. Like, why do you have to relay the horrible story of the groom throwing up at some frat party in college during the speech? Or tell everyone how much of a gossiper the bride was growing up? Like, let them have ONE night. Lordy lord.
